The Journal Challenge is Ending Soon :(

So... the 30 day journal challenge is almost over. Only a couple more promts to go! I have no idea what I'm going to do when it is done! I guess I'll have to come up with my own ideas or find a group who journals together. I know one thing for certain, I don't want to stop. Working on my journal has become so relaxing & inspirational!
Day 22
I wasn't very inspired on this day though. I had a really hard time picking a favorite holiday, cause honestly I love them all. So, much so that this past weekend I got very mad that I didn't get to see any fireworks for the Fourth. But, inspiration is a tricky business with me anyway...
Day 23
I adore this page! We were asked to illustrate one of the elements of art. I chose color & decided to use a CMYK color scheme. CMYK is just so happy feeling to me! This is my second round on this day's challenge.. the first didn't turn out like I planned and I was using a primary color scheme.. didn't like it. But this I LOVE!
Day 24
this is probably my favorite page so far. We were asked what is our favorite place? I thought about this one for a very long time. I couldn't decide between my little cozy place on the couch where I craft, do my journal and read my books OR my parents yard. I think what made the decision for me is this: The other day I was at my moms house & I was being very much so a girl by being emotional. I started crying while sitting in the swing. Just sitting there in the peaceful sunshine made me cry. Everything is so pretty at their house and so cozy. So, I chose their yard as my favorite place. :) p.s. mom i love you! :) it really is my favorite place! (my mommy reads my blog :D)

Good Morning!

day 21

day 21- what is your favorite quote?

I'm still following along in the 30 Day Journal Challenge on Janel's Blog! I'm finding that I have really good days where I can feel massive amounts of inspiration but there are also days where there is no muse what so ever. I'm so out of the art of doodling... I used to doodle up EVERYthing. I can see my own style forming though, which is amazing!

I was really inspired by Day 21! What is your favorite quote? I did 3 different pages because I just couldn't stop myself! :)

day 21.2

day 22.3

xtina ;) (it's a beautiful lyric)

I really could have kept going with this, but I stopped.

So, what are your favorite quotes? What lyrics move you? Think about them... jot them down! Use them in your artwork & crafts & style!

This is my brain on paper

Welcome to the inner workings of my mind:
Day 1- Introduce Yourself!

Day 2-What is the Best part of your day?

day3- write a love letter

day 4-what does your heart look like?

day5- BLOGS i LOVE
(^it should say *you... oh well.)

so as you can see, I'm on target with the Journal challenge so far, and when I get done here I will start on tonight's challenge! I'm really loving this idea. It's getting me to think about things that I should ALWAYS think about. It's making me realize I have SO much to be thankful and happy about. It's making me see that my life isn't so bad after all.
I'm really thankful to Janel for creating and hosting this challenge. It's such an amazing idea and her promts are so heartfelt! I really feel liberated in a way by showing my journal pages to everyone. It's like... no matter what these pages say, this is who I am... and it's okay. So, major thanks Janel, for giving me this feeling. It's kinda mind shattering.
I feel like the first three entries were kinda rushed, and you can see that in their design. I guess I was just getting used to journaling & doodling again. Adding colors really helped me out alot. I like black&white but I think colors are more my style :)
So far my favorite page is Day 5. The Blogs I Love. And I'd just like to take a minute to say to everyone in my google reader & the blogs i follow on blogger:
THANK YOU!
your idea's, favorite pictures, animals, stories and personalities make the internet so much more fun. you've inspired me. made me laugh.made me feel like i'm not alone in this world in the fact that i'm obsessed with random objects and crazy design.
you are really too cool to be friends, but blogs just make it that much more fun.
so, thank you for what you do and please don't stop!

well, I'm off to journal!
check out the Flickr Group & if you want to start now, it's NEVER too late! :)

ps; i officially love FLICKR! It just clicked with me the other day how to work it & it is so amazing.

I ACCEPT!

Today I saw this:

and I felt instantly drawn to do this!

I feel like it's something I MUST do.

SO... here's my journal all prettied up!

journal cover

yippee! I found the journal in my supply drawer at the computer desk, and it was empty... execpt for the first page. I tore it out and started FRESH! It has lines on the pages, and I prefer journals that are blank natural pages, but hey it was FREE! So, who can complain? Certainly not me.

The journal is hard back and has a texture to it. I used a permant marker to draw the scallops and the swirls and I made a crochet flower to go along with it! It's not super fancy.. or even very difficult but it is my favorite colors and I LOVE swirls! so, YEY!

Are you doing the 30 day journal challenge?

5.30.2010

attention all yarn addicts! SUPER AWESOME DEAL!
it's insane... seriously. i just got back from lucy of attic24's blog, where she discusses the BEST part of her crochet world: HER COLORS! She also gave detailed color lists and selections and in THIS post she gives a link to buy Rico Creative Cotton & the website has made a SPECIAL order pack just for Lucy's Blog, the exact colors she picked out! It's lovely! And seriously cheap too. Just don't forget to convert the Euros into American dollars if you're in the USA. I can't wait till my next paycheck comes in because I AM SO BUYING ME SOME! I feel loads of inspiration coming from this yarn and I feel like the possibilites are ENDLESS. A feeling that I NEED to feel.

so, go check it out!!!

wasssssup?!

ok, listen. now, don't go getting any ideas. i'm not promising anything. but, TWO posts in ONE week? i really feel on fire. there are flames at the computer chair. no lie. so, becky tagged me in a cute little photo-dare and being the twelve-year-old i think I am, i HAD to do it!
so CUTE!!! haha! my name written in cursive in YARN! I thought it was going to be hard, but it was easy-peasy. Can you guys see Harleykins (kitty paws in the left top corner)? He got super happy about yarn coming out and decided to get all nosey on me. He told me that yarn lights up his life.
wicked side view of the yarn name creation

and the GRANNY SQUARE SWAP finally got here! Everyone did such an amazing job! I will admit I have some favorites. :) but, thats normal right? I really didn't want to open some of these because they were packaged so pretty! I still don't really know what to do with them. I'd like to frame them and stick them together sort of like a gallery view. Making a blankie out of them would be neat too. I really had fun doing this swap... and getting the package that day in the mail was just like christmas when i was a kid! I was so giddy and snatched it out of the hubby's hands and ripped it open!
well, other than reading.. (i finshed wintergirls last night. AMAZING book. Totally moving and captivating. A little dark, and scary, but real. Very real things. becky, i would say read it. it's going to rattle your brain cage, thats for sure. and i've already started another book 'evermore'. Can I just say that the name Ever is really pretty! It's another fantasy teenager book, pish i don't care that i'm in my twenties and still ready YA novels. ok this has gotten out of hand! END))
... i've been doing some graphic design again. It's been a LONG time since I've used Adobe 7.0 and it's so out dated now it's insane, but I've had some cool things come out of it. For some odd reason the colors aren't showing right when I changed the file to jpeg, but these are some t-shirt designs I've made for our church youth group.
upprmymtshirt
^this is the design they like! grafiti font, paint splatters, wings... i don't blame them. it's awesome. they picked out yellow as the tshirt color. it's going to be bright and AWESOME.
cmyk shirt2

(again.. colors aren't right.) this is another one I made. I LOVE this one. They told me it looked like it was from the EIGHTIES. I thought that was in right now? Am I wrong? But, it doesn't look like the eighties to me. i think it would have been a cool deisgn on a white shirt.
I've still got to make the back logo for the shirt. It's going to be this HUGE paint glob with the verse Colossians 2:2-4 which says "I want you woven into a tapestry of love, in touch with everything there is to know of God. Then you will have minds confident, and at rest focused on Christ, God's great mystery. All the richest treasures of wisdom and knowledge are embedded in that mystery and no where else. And we've been shown the mystery! I'm telling you this because I don't want anyone leading you off on some wild-goose chase, after other so called mysteries, or the "secrect." '
Robin shared a really cool message the other night centered around that verse that simply and plainly laid out what being a christian means, and what a tapestry of love is.
I can't wait to get finished with the shirts and get them made. I am so excited about it... and it's cool to think I will be wearing my own design!
well, I hope everyone has a LOVELY weekend. :)
