Arg!

Yes, I taught my Doodle to make ugly-super-adorable faces. :) What can I say, I'm a good mom! ;)

Saturday was so much fun! I wish I has time earlier when it was all still fresh in my mind. Everything is really busy right now & we've got a couple of big things going on. But, Saturday I went to a new antique store & I LOVED IT! The prices were really good and they had some really awesome things! Afterwards, we went to Truett's, a branch of Chick-fil-a and ate. Then we went to my parents house later that night for a BBQ with a bunch of friends.

This weekend really felt like summer.

I am having so much fun during this journal class! Yesterday while on my lunch break I got out my things and started to work on my page. It was very relaxing and it got my mind off work. These are my Goals for this Journal. (I'm not very good at making goals, but in the 30 day Journal Challenge I made goals for July. Now, I notice that more than half of those goals I accomplished! HOORAY! So I'm getting used to setting goals & meeting them!)

& this is my page. I loved it... until I colored in the Goals part. The colors just don't look right. During this Journal Class my goals are:

*express my feeling & thoughs creatively

*honesty

*gain inspiration

*journal faithfully

*Have fun

*to reflect

*to be a better person and more thankful

I think all of those goals are very obtainable! Although it will take dedication for some of them!

This is my page for Day Three. I used and recreated a picture from a photobooth when Robin & I started dating in 2005. This was FIVE years ago! I look at this picture and I remember that day so clearly. :) This is the day that I knew Robin would be my husband and that I would love him so crazily. In that last picture where my eyes were closed I can remember those thoughts. I was thinking I love him, I love him, I love him so much, so much, so much.

I got a call from a friend yesterday who needed to find a home for a very pretty puppy. Little did I know that the puppy's new home would be mine!

My friend and her boyfriend found this dog tied up to a post at a local grocery store.

There was a sign tied around her neck saying, "Please take me to a good home." There was no one around. No one sitting with the dog. No water for it to stay cool. No food if she got hungry. My friends found out from a worker that she had been outside all day. They took her home and started cleaning her up. Turns out she is an amazing dog. She knows how to ride in the car, likes walking on a leash, knows how to sit, comes when you call, loves Doodle and likes to cuddle on the sofa.

Now, we just have to come up with a name! We like Bella, Maggie & Emma. They don't seem to fit though. I'll keep you updated on the happenings with our new family member!

Summertime

Not too long ago my parents put a bid in on one of these houses for Doodle.

Well, they got it & Put it in their yard next to Doodle's little Bug.

Can you imagine the wee happiness that a little one felt?

She wasn't quite sure if it was hers... but she knew she liked it!

Her grin was from ear to ear and her eyes lit up like the moon!

She knew what to do, too.

She peeked out all the windows and stepped out the door.

She waved and yelled.

Then she was ready to ride!

Doodle has such fun out at Nana & Paw's house.

With the summer being as hot as it is right now, it's hard to go out and play.

Tonight we spent the evening in the pool, trying to recover from yesterday.

Doodle is sick with strep throat. It has been a nightmare.

NIGHTMARE!

But she is getting better and her anti-biotics are kicking in.

I'll be glad when it's over, though.

Its really hard seeing her in such pain & not being able to make it go away.

Today was much, much better! She still has a small fever, but she ate and played a little bit today. :)

I'm taking joy in those small moments.

Tonight in the pool she decided she was ready to start going under.

She's too cute, guys.. I really can't begin to tell you.

She's growing so fast and so sweet (despite her in her sickness).

I hope all of you know the joy of a child someday.

It's honestly divine and a Godsend!

I hope everyone stays COOL and has a mar-VAH-lous saturday. I'm thinking some thirfty shopping is due for tomorrow! :)

pee. ess: I found this really cool tutorial on how to make your own journal! It's very easy to understand and has really good pictures. So, for all you ladies taking Janel's Class: Journaling for a Cause, here's an idea for your journal. My husband is going to make one for me. I will simply mess all that measuring up :) Hopefully mine will turn out something like what you see above!!

Summer Bliss & A Feeling of Eclipse

Yesterday was so perfect, so happy, so summer-ey. Never have I seen a littlie be so independent and outgoing. My daughter is growing so quickly I can help but be emotional. I see her chubby hands and wide eyes and tell myself this isn't real. She isn't already talking to me at one year. She isn't already remembering where things are and places she's been. She isn't singing along with the radio. But it is real. It's very real. It feels like everyday is a little droplet of water. So much happens, but it's so hard to see it until one day you stop and look and notice that theres been a flash flood. I'm flash flooding right now. Overwhelmed. Consumed with Love and Worry. Lost but Found. Needy yet Independent. I feel all things today. It's odd that the joys of yesterday have been eclipsed by the worries and burdens of today.

Pray for us. There are things brewing.

Not so good things.

EDIT: I've realized something...

I am so amazingly BLESSED that these worries of bills and arrangements are terribly insignifigant.

today we find Doodle happy to be playing outside

It is raining and dreary, but I'm outside anyways on our porch. We've been keeping Doodle's Exersaucer out here lately due to the nice temperatures. We are a hot natured bunch, Doodle included, so when it gets a little chilly we just put on a jacket or hat. Doodle seriously loves being outside. She is so facinated by trees and things.  It makes me so happy to see her alert and playing and giggling. It's such a precious thing.

I wanted to share with you one of the hats that is at Hissy Fits! Below is the one that turned out to be my favorite! It's "Citron" Green with a "Pumpkin" Flower. These two colors together just make me so excited and happy. I really like the added border on the bottom of this hat. It was a simple single crochet in the back loop only. :) It's mahvolous! Doodle rocks it out nicely too!! I wish I would have gotten a shot of her outfit that day. Daddy dressed her and she had on the purple shirt & orange & black leggings. It was too cute & so mis matched, it made my heart swell. The hubs is a HUGE fan of little girl tights as am I.

Have you ever realized that you just had a FAVORITE of something, and unless you had that favorite something nothing else compared? Well, that is my case with Lion Brand's Wool Ease Thick & Quick (they could have thought of a simpler title;)...). I've recently made a CRAPton of baby hats. I know more than 12... :D and I am currently hooking another baby hat, but this time using a different yarn. This time I'm using Lion Brand Homespun. It is nice and soft and squishy, but it just doesn't measure up to Thick & Quick for some reason. So.. I've already done 3 rounds and put the hat down because its boring to me. Does this happen to anyone else?! Maybe it's the brown? I don't know.. but I just want to hook with my Thick & Quick. It's so funny, but it makes me irritated. Hopefully I can make it through this hat & get back to the good stuff!

Well, crafty people around the world... I have HUGE news!! Heatherlymade has made it into the RETAIL world!!!! As of today, there are 8, count 'em, EIGHT, baby-toddler-kid hats at Hissy Fits in Griffin, Ga. It's in the Wal-Mart shopping Center in Griffin & they have the CUTEST things there. (Plus, a lot of LOCAL handmade things... like mine!) I am so excited that someone has taken interest in my crochet items and I'm hoping I can drum up some business for myself. I really want my crochet career to take off, but it's seems as if I'm not doing something right. I've only had one sale on Etsy since I've joined. I'm not sure if I don't have enough listings or if I need to promote myself more by joining forums or paying for a spotlight. 

Etsy peoples, have you noticed things that help your etsy out? I really need to sell somethings, because we really need that little extra bit. What are your tips and advice? I really need some motivation and input. So, please share. What works? What doesn't? Take a look at my Etsy... what do you like about it? what DON'T you like about it? I really want to improve. (and sell something :) ) 

p.s. Did I mention that I bought Doodle the sickest tu-tu ever made today @ hissy fits? it's for her halloween costume! It's handmade & oh so cute in white, pumpkin and black with ribbion bits. I CANNOTTT wait for Halloween so she can wear her orange and black striped tights with her pumpkin onesize & her tu tu. I even tried to paint her toenails today (EPIC FAIL!). I can't wait to show youuu!!

My very own HOTSLING! Courtesy of SaraSophia's blog & give-a-way! I have to say I sqwee'd like a little girl! So far we've used it twice today & I can't wait to go out and about to use it for real. I think it will be a while before I breast feed in it... it's kinda confusing to me. But Doodle is already too big for the cradle position. That little bug is growing so fast and faster. She makes me smile though. She's just so beautiful. :)

Doodle became okay with the sling after a few butt rubs and head scratches. At first she screamed & screamed some more. We had a little bit of a hard time getting her in there. I joked with Robin saying Hotslings should make you take a class before you can buy one of these because they're so tricky... but I need to practice & then I'll get better at it!

how exausting this little one can be.

but i still love her more than ice cream & cupcakes. :) always will, matters not what she do. :P
