Total Crochet Mode

I am in total crochet mode. I am almost done with my granny square blanket! I'm sure by the time the chilly air makes it down south I will be well on my way to working on new projects! I am so excited about my blanket, and it looks pretty much the same as the last pictures I shared, so when it is DONE I will share some more! It looks pretty boring right now with all the creame, but soon it will burst forth with colors of life!

Because of me being in crochet mode, I have been rummaging flickr and getting mega inspirted.

Oh, happy crochet. If you are a yarn addict, crochet person, knitter you should check out Ravelry, if you're not already obsessed with it. There are tons, TONS and TOOOONNNNS of free patterns, groups, things to drool over. It's like facebook for YARNies! Ha. It's a great place to hang out and get inspired!

Happy Crafting!

quirks

Have you ever realized that you just had a FAVORITE of something, and unless you had that favorite something nothing else compared? Well, that is my case with Lion Brand's Wool Ease Thick & Quick (they could have thought of a simpler title;)...). I've recently made a CRAPton of baby hats. I know more than 12... :D and I am currently hooking another baby hat, but this time using a different yarn. This time I'm using Lion Brand Homespun. It is nice and soft and squishy, but it just doesn't measure up to Thick & Quick for some reason. So.. I've already done 3 rounds and put the hat down because its boring to me. Does this happen to anyone else?! Maybe it's the brown? I don't know.. but I just want to hook with my Thick & Quick. It's so funny, but it makes me irritated. Hopefully I can make it through this hat & get back to the good stuff!

Well, crafty people around the world... I have HUGE news!! Heatherlymade has made it into the RETAIL world!!!! As of today, there are 8, count 'em, EIGHT, baby-toddler-kid hats at Hissy Fits in Griffin, Ga. It's in the Wal-Mart shopping Center in Griffin & they have the CUTEST things there. (Plus, a lot of LOCAL handmade things... like mine!) I am so excited that someone has taken interest in my crochet items and I'm hoping I can drum up some business for myself. I really want my crochet career to take off, but it's seems as if I'm not doing something right. I've only had one sale on Etsy since I've joined. I'm not sure if I don't have enough listings or if I need to promote myself more by joining forums or paying for a spotlight.

Etsy peoples, have you noticed things that help your etsy out? I really need to sell somethings, because we really need that little extra bit. What are your tips and advice? I really need some motivation and input. So, please share. What works? What doesn't? Take a look at my Etsy... what do you like about it? what DON'T you like about it? I really want to improve. (and sell something :) )

p.s. Did I mention that I bought Doodle the sickest tu-tu ever made today @ hissy fits? it's for her halloween costume! It's handmade & oh so cute in white, pumpkin and black with ribbion bits. I CANNOTTT wait for Halloween so she can wear her orange and black striped tights with her pumpkin onesize & her tu tu. I even tried to paint her toenails today (EPIC FAIL!). I can't wait to show youuu!!

the cats out of the bag!

in the beginning, there was crochet in the round.
and I saw that it was good.

well, my friends I have great news! I finally finished my crochet flowered bag! I'm so very happy to have finally completed it! I started on it just a few days before Doodle was born and once she got here I was completly occupied with giving her sweet kisses and every bit of my attention, as you can imagine. Yet, poor little flowered bag was left in the dark cluttered corners of my craft room. She was bored and unfinished and very upset with me. Until the other day. I began to show her affection again and.........

well, there she is! isn't she a BEAUT!? Well, I believe so!!!
What a happy bag for dashing around town or to carry stashes of happy yarn or
 even a picnic's lunch!
She's made of Vanna's Choice Yarn in bright and cheery colors.

so graceful, that bag! and OH, the flowers.
cannont, simply cannot forget
 the cutest flowers!!

there are four individual flowers on the bag & each is cheery and unique!!!

so, friends.. what do you think? be terribly honest, please!! is it lovely? ugly? just plain crazy? i wanna' know!!

thank you, attic 24, for getting me started on this project, though I messed up and narrowed my bag some how.... it kinda resembles the pattern! ;)

gardens, yarns & projects

well, I have finally sat down with the camera and a few of the projects I'm working on right now. I have to say that crocheting while watching t.v. is so nice. I just get to hooking so fast, before I know it I have 11 granny squares made or half of a purse. I really should thank Attic24 for her inspiration & pattern for my little bag that I'm making! Her color choices are so amazing & so lovely that I just want to stop by her house and get cozy on her sofa! Look around on her blog... it's so cute & cheerful, it will make your day so much better!!!

this is me & my uber preggers bod! :D only a few more days left :( it almost makes me sad... almost.

fun times and my yarn bag
these grannies really do make me smile. they're so simple & so fun. they just pile up and pile up & then you have a whole little bock. :D

vanessa choice stash yarn
went to the lobby of hobbies today. got some vanessa choice yarn & it feels so light at soft & the colors are so vivid. I just love it. I'm using it to make my yarn bag. The pattern I'm using is from Attic 24 (linked above) & I can't wait to finish this!!!

yarn bag in progress
and here's my bag... I'm just hooking along. I've got a few more increases to do, then about a million even stitches to make the body of the bag

so, that's what i've been doing. :D oh && meet MAX!!!! Our little tyrant of a lab who thinks he is a tea-cup sized pup...
max!!!

well, if you don't hear from me for a while, you'll know it's because motherhood has been bestowed upon me and I am busy loving the little creation that God has given me. I'll get some pictures up asap... I mean how could I have a blog & not post about the BIGGEST change in my life? I'm sure I'll be here to vent, boast & whine. Oh, I can't wait.
Till then,

hand cramps & baby blankets

Well, well, well. There for awhile, I had to stop crocheting. I had some severe pain in my left hand. Whether it was from sleeping or from crocheting so much, I'm not sure. Needless to say, when I started up crocheting again, it was like falling in love all over again. I can tell I'm starting to develop my own style and way of doing things. I'm really excited about my progress and I can complete any regular stitch so far and a few decorative ones. I LOVE the puff stitch. It is just so cute and sweet.

Well, as far as projects go I've made a slouchy hat without following a pattern and it turned out pretty cool. It's really plain, but I like it and I made it for me so it works. I'm not really sure when I'll be able to turn a product, but hopefully I will be able to make some things soon that I can sell. Right now I'm working on a baby blanket, and it is lovely. I adore it. I'm doing it in about 5 different colors and yarns, so it is really a hodge podge. Two of the yarns I'm using is "I Love This Yarn" and I really do like it, a lot. It's very soft and inexpensive.

I'll get some pictures up next time!!
