Blogger Blanket Project

After successfully procrastinating crocheting granny squares last night, I woke up this morning with great purpose. I ate breakfast and afterwards got busy! I put on a movie for Autumn & I got comfy in the living room with Burlesque (which was pretty good.) and went to work! So far I've made 2 grannies. 6 rounds takes awhile! Not to mention I have to take breaks to help Autumn use the potty, get juice, check on her because she's gotten really quiet. That sort of thing. I've been neglecting to take pictures of the previous squares, so here are my two so far! :)

I'm down to my last little bit of that Olive green yarn. It's a discontinued color from Hobby Lobby's  I Love This Yarn. It was my favorite color & you can't find it any more. I've been to countless hobby lobby's looking for it. It makes me sad! So, I've just been using it up as the first round in all my squares cause it uses the least amount of yarn! Hobby Lobby should really re-think making this yarn again. There are some HIDEOUS colors they have that never sell at hobby lobby & they should bring this yarn back!! Please?! lol. I'll be buying it all the time! Anyhoot....

Luckily, my swap partners have taken pictures of the squares I've sent them! YAY! So here they are! I hope you guys don't mind me sharing the pictures!!
I did some stash busting on Jamie's squares, and I feel like they are so hodge podge and mismatched! She loved them, but I still feel like I should have made a more uniformed look now! The botton left square is my FAVORITE! I think breaking the colors up with the cream rows really does something special to the look of it! Jamie I'm so glad you snapped this shot!

These are the squares I made for Becky! I love the way these colors turned out together! I wish I had a whole blanket of them, but let's just be honest, when it comes to big crochet projects I sadly don't have the motivation/determination to finish them! Doesn't instagram make everything look so much cuter! Thanks Becky for tweeting about them!!

Here are the squares I've received already! Every time I check the mailbox I am crossing my fingers for a package from my swap partner!!
Squares from Courtney @you will. won't you?, our swap host! They make me think of St. Patrick's Day and four leaf clovers! :)
Squares from Christine @ckscribbles She wrote me a cute little note and explained her "color story!" So, cute! She was inspired by the multi-colored yarn & based all her color choices off it! I've never thought of crocheting from a color story! Such a clever idea!
I just had to single this square out! I LOVE IT! I'm a sucker for gradient.. I can't help it. Not to mention that the blues are PERFECT! This square makes me so happy!

Well I'm going to go crochet some more while Autumn takes her nap!
I hope you all are having a wonderful day!

Christmas is Coming!

So you better watch out, you better not cry I'm crocheting up a storm I'm telling you why... Heather Dawn is coming to town.
i am so dumb.
Crochet Snowflakes
I've been crocheting snowflakes like theres a blizzard in my hands trying to break free!!
I've done pink and white ones so far! They are easily addictive! I've followed this tutorial!
My Granny Square Blanket
This is my newest project! I am making myself a granny blanket! The colors look so much better in this picture than in real life! I guess the sunlight made them POP! But I'm using I Love This Yarn and it is so soft and squishy I am questioning why I used anything else for the past 2 blankets I made!

Welp... Thanksgiving was spectacular. I didn't-REPEAT DIDN'T- eat too much! HA.. take that TURKEY DAY! I had one peice of Red Velvet Cake, which I have a post planning to share my mothers EPIC recipe! I was actaully sad about thanksgiving food. I have this wierd pet peeve. If everything on my plate is the same color, I get a little wierded out. And everything was yellow. Which is the worst color that everything could be. I know, I'm crazy. Robin tells me that it's a crazy pet peeve! Everything was yellow except for the cranberry sauce and lima beans.
BUT everything was DELISH! So I should shut up, cause my mom reads this blog~
MAMA, you cook so good... don't listen to me rant about everything being yellow. But you probably noticed this too. ;)
BLACK Friday wasn't so bad. I think next year I am joining the ANTI-Black Friday movement though. I got my camera at 1 p.m. I didn't have to wait in a line for it. We got some awesome toys for Doodle at a very low price. It was fun to be with Robin, Daniel and Autumn. It was actually the lowest stress shopping trip I can remember. We went where we wanted and when we were done we left.
Now, I am shopping on the internet. And I think my life has been revolutionised. I'm not a big internet shopper, but, um, I think I will be!
What are you doing to get ready for the holidays?!!

I Heart Fall Class & WIP UPDATE

you guys are going to get so sick of me this fall.
because I am so gung-ho about it. :)
I signed up for this journaling class!
What can I say, it is my new obsession.

I can't wait to get started!
So, if you're in the I Heart Fall Class,
follow me so we can keep up with each other!

W.I.P UPDATE:
I took Doodle outside to play today and while she ran amuk in the yard I sat in the swing and crocheted granny squares for my blanket.
crochet3
can you see her peeking out of her house? and yes, our gas tank is painted as a cow. gotta love my dad. he's crafty. i get it all from him!!

I thought I was nearly finished. After laying it out the other night I realized it wasn't big enough to go on my bed. Now, I have 4 more big granny squares I need to make! No Problem! Here is the most recent one!

crochet1
Three cream rows down, six more to go! Then, 3 more granny squares.... It's getting there.

I am so feeling these colors for the season change. The last bits of summer hanging on and the gradual change to Fall.
I am planning on making a full post dedicated to what colors I am loving for fall. I have this all planned out in my head.. and the colors may be unusual, but I am so ready to work with them.

I want to badly to get started on new project, but I am being very strict with myself. I will not stop making this blanket, because IF I do, it will NEVER get made. It will fall in the pile with all the rest that I have tried to make then put away. I can't let myself do that. I have to finish this like my life depends on it.
You guys will help keep me accountable, right?

In other news:
I am in love with Little Big Planet!

Little Big Planet has finally landed!
It is a crafty little game! And SO ADDICTIVE. This is the first game I have ever actaully wanted to play for hours on end. I played online to day and had a ton of fun with a person I met through "quick play."
I am so going to make a sackperson.
If you have a PS3, GO GET IT! NOWWW! :) They have a new one coming out soon! Here's the trailer. Let's all be amazed!

Okay, I'm signing out. Peace.

Total Crochet Mode

I am in total crochet mode. I am almost done with my granny square blanket! I'm sure by the time the chilly air makes it down south I will be well on my way to working on new projects! I am so excited about my blanket, and it looks pretty much the same as the last pictures I shared, so when it is DONE I will share some more! It looks pretty boring right now with all the creame, but soon it will burst forth with colors of life!

Because of me being in crochet mode, I have been rummaging flickr and getting mega inspirted.

Today I...

journal&granny 007

Today has been an interesting day. I'll share more later. The best part of today was sitting on my porch while it rained. I worked on my Granny Square Blanket. It was so nice and peaceful sitting out there and it cooled off so much it almost felt like fall. Here's the whole entry:

Today I...

This is the previous entry. These are the things I can't live without. The Promise is an easy way of saying my relationship with God. I know I couldn't live if there wasn't the promise of spending eternity with Him.

This is the blanket! It's coming along! I bought some yarn for the border today. I had to shop locally so I had to get Red Heart Super Saver. :( But I got a very pretty shade of pink, mustard and brown. It has a good retro feel to it.

I wish this post had a lot more enthusiasm in it, but I've had a rough day & there is a lot on my mind. Tomorrow will be lovely though. We're going to a new Antique Store.
Till Next Time!
I hope your weekend is peaceful and fun!!

also; I've been looking at cameras lately. getting ready to buy a new one soon and I was wondering lovely ladies, what are you shooting with? are your guns fancy schmacy or just enough? I've been using a borrowed Kodak Easy Share ZD8612 and I like it! It takes great pictures, but it goes through the batteries QUICK! I would like something that the computer charges, like my old Kodak Easy Share M853, but the quality of the pictures isn't as good. Help a sista ouuut! ;)

we share initials :P

This is my favorite quote right now! I found it while at work about a week ago and it's still floating around in my head. I remember in high school when we studied Thoreau & Emerson. I remember thinking that they had everything figured out. I remember being really impressed and really moved by their thoughts. I had forgotten all those things until I found this quote. It makes me want to scamper away into the woods with nothing and just live. *sigh* Simplicity would be so nice. (except I would die in this heat!)

LOOK! I still crochet! I promise! I've been working on this for about a month now. It's a slow process, but I hope to have it done SOON! I have many other projects tinkering around in my head that need to come out! SO, when I AM done, you will see it dear friends. Let's just say that it involves some Great Granny Square Swap things :)

Have a Sweet Sunday!
Go & Live Freely!

pee ess: I've been meaning to tell you about this really cool movie I saw a while back! The title was "Keith" I can't find a way to post a picture, but click on that link it will take you to IMDB (International Movie Database). The movie has Jesse McCartney in it. He's never been a big deal to me and it took me a while to figure out why he looked so familiar in the movie. But, you should watch this movie. I really loved the feel, the emotions and the over all plot. If you watch it, tell me what you thought! (for those of you who have netflix, you can watch it instantly!)

happy flowers and project updates

DAFFODILS!!!! Oh, they make my heart sing! They actually are really special to me! When Robin and I were dating he told me he had a surprise for me, but we would have to go hunt for it. So, we hop in his car and ride. The whole time Robin is being really sweet and romantic and he pulls over on the side of the road, cuts the lights off and asks me not to get outside of the car. In the moonlight I see him jumping all around this open field. I had no idea what he was doing, but he looked so cute doing it. I half thought he had lost his mind. When he came back to the car he had a HUGE fistful of wild daffodils. To this day, whenever I pass that spot on the road I can't help but smile, and the same with daffodils. :)

Annnnnd FINALLY I took some pictures of the projects I'm working on!! It's blanket time as you can see! The pretty colorful one (pink, blue, purple & green) is for baby Autumn (due in approx 90 days.) It's huge, I know. I used a normal sized pattern.. and didn't think to scale it down. Oh well, she'll have it for a long time. lol. And the other is a soild granny squares. I'm creating one very large granny square in my color scheme, then I will outline it will little granny squares in the same scheme. Who's excited? Me. Now, if only they didn't take so long to make. Honestly... blankets are tedious. I don't see how I'm going to find the energy to make them to sell.. I hope I get motivated.

Speaking of selling... I have an etsy account and store set up to put my handmade projects for sale. I plan on posting crocheted things, maybe some jewelry and maybe some paintings... who knows. I guess what ever strikes me or what ever nifty things I can dream up. Please, check it out!!

the month i never can spell

oh, feburary. febrary. febaurary. damn it. see what I mean. I seriously HAVE to look at a calendar for this. February. Thank you calendar. :)
Anyways.
What have I been up to you ask? Well for that, there are lists. And we all love lists.. right?
1. I'm still brewing a child in my tummy. She's more lively lately and the other day she was moving around so much I thought I was going to pass out. (Not really pass out.. but I was having trouble walking. :)) It's really hard for me to grasp that in oh, 14 weeks I'll have a little baby in my arms who is a part of me. It blows my mind. When I look in the mirror and see my getting huge belly, I can't help but think about how when I was in high school I really wanted this part of my life to come true, but never ever thought it would. *sigh* So, here's to dreams I never put much faith in, but came true anyways.

2. Speaking of baby, I'm still crocheting Autumn's baby blanket. It's coming along, but I keep putting it up for a while then getting it back out. I haven't worked on it since last week, but I think it will be ok if I take my time with it. It's turning out really cute, but it is waaaay to big. I didn't follow a baby pattern. *shrug* oh well. She will be warm for a long time with this one. Maybe, it will be something she will keep for a long time. I hope so.

3. I'm also working on an afghan for our soon to be living room. I've started two different designs... the first was just single crochet squares (40 single chains by 40 rows) for some odd reason, the 2 that I did looked more like rectangles than squares. Soo.. then I found a basic solid granny square pattern and I've started to make a bunch of those then, I will join them together. The colors I've got picked out are purple, green and blue then a yarn that is all those together.

4. Robin and I are still working on our trailer. It's been our little project since July of last year and trust me I am so ready to be finished with it. We have completely redone this trailer. We gutted an entire bathroom and had to start over, including the sub-floor. When I think about all the work that has been put in to the trailer, I can't help but get a headache. For something so small, it has taken a really long time. Here's what we've done.
-LIVING ROOM: Painted. Ripped out a non working gas fire place/book case. Added a new light fixture. Painted ceiling. Will replace floor.
-KITCHEN: Gutted everything. Added new cabinets and new layout. New counter tops, pulls, backsplash, stove and frig. Painted. Added beadboard and chairrail. Replaced non-working light fixtures with new ones. Will replace floors.
-BEDROOM: Painted. Added Crown Molding. Framed windows with trim. Added new light fixture. Will replace floors.
-BR BATH: Completed Unfinished drywall and painted. Added vanity countertop. Will add toilet and floors.
-GUEST BATH: Completely gutted from ceiling to floor. Everything replaced. Ceiling, walls, floors, tub, vanity. Expanded tub area to fit jet tub (I can't wait to USE that!!!). Added tile board around shower. Will replace floors and add a new toilet.
-OFFICE: Painted. Cased window. Added crown molding.
-BABY ROOM: Not finished yet. (Don't get me started. I'm due in less than 3 months and my baby room hasn't even got a stitch of paint on the walls. It makes me want to cry.)
-PANTRY & LAUNDRY ROOM: Unfinished drywall completed and painted. Added molding. Will add floors.
And, we've yet to start on the porch, but we're going to completly re-do it too. It's screened in (well, not really cause all of if is ripped and dry rotted... you get the idea) and we plan on opening it up. We also plan on adding some landscaping to make everything look better.
SO, when will we be done with it? Who knows. When we first started I said I wanted to be in it by Thanksgiving. Maybe I will be in in befrore thanksgiving this year. *sigh*

That's really all that's happened in my life lately. That I can think of right now, but my eyes are getting droopy. And I'm sure as soon as I get in the bed I will work on some more granny squares.. ;)
